Triangular Approach SATHI firmly believes that it needs to take inputs from the Child Mental Health Practitioners on one side and the Academic fraternity on the other, in order to fully understand the (1) reason for child’s preference to street life and (2) the de-addiction of the child.
Having said the above, SATHI has constantly drawn from NIMHANS (National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro-surgery) at Bangalore which is a premier institute in India. Dr. Sekhar Seshadri, head-Dept. of Child Psychiatry has given inputS to SATHI especially in the design and conduct of “Home-placement and de-addiction camps”. Dr. Tanya and her team at NIMHANS under the supervision of Dr. Sekhar Sesadri have helped in many extreme cases where we needed the medical practitioner’s intervention as some children do not respond to SATHI’s counseling. SATHI has also drawn its learning from TISS (The Tata Institute of Social Sciences) at Mumbai. SATHI seeks suggestions and advice from Dr. Neela Dabir, Dept. of Social Work. |
